Katie Gordon, MSc, PAg, PAS

​Katie Gordon (Stehr) grew up on a mixed grain, horse and cattle operation near Swan River, Manitoba. She followed her passion for beef cattle by moving to Saskatoon to pursue a BSc. in Agriculture, with a focus on Animal Science and Agribusiness. After receiving her Bachelors, Katie completed a Master of Science Degree in Animal Science under the guidance of Drs. John McKinnon (U of S, Saskatoon, SK) and Tim McAllister (AAFC, Lethbridge, AB). Her research examined the impact of chemically treating barley straw to improve forage quality, and the impact of feeding the treated product in wheat-based finishing rations. Since graduating, she has worked exclusively as ruminant nutrition consultant with clients from across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. Katie enjoys getting to know her clients, understanding their goals, and helping them to be more profitable and productive in their business by providing solutions to the unique challenges that are presented. She still maintains a commercial cow herd in Manitoba on the farm she grew up on, but resides in Maple Creek, SK with her husband and family where they ranch in the Cypress Hills.
