Brittany Smith, MSc., DVM

​​Consulting Ruminant Nutritionist, Saskatchewan

​Dr. Brittany Smith developed a love for cattle while growing up on a mixed farm near Bentley, AB. Her passion for ruminant nutrition and research was kindled during her undergraduate years, leading her to complete her DVM (‘14) and MSc (’16) at the University of Saskatchewan. Her research focused on defining subacute ruminal acidosis in feedlot cattle. Brittany brought her interest in the relationship between nutrition and animal health to southwest Saskatchewan, where she worked as a large animal veterinarian for 6 years before joining the BeefSmart team. Brittany is passionate about helping producers reach their individual goals and innovating in ways that benefit the beef industry as a whole. She lives and ranches with her husband and his family near Abbey, SK.
