Maddy Lazurko grew up on mixed farm west of Weyburn, Saskatchewan. She attended the University of Saskatchewan where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in animal science (‘19). Her passion for livestock and nutrition led her to southern Alberta where she worked with dairy producers on nutrition and management. She then returned to Saskatchewan and worked as a livestock and feed extension specialist in the southwest. Maddy returned to school to obtain an MSc (’23) from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine with a focus on vaccine use and technology adoption in Canadian cow-calf herds. She is passionate about working with cattle producers to find efficient, practical, and economical solutions while reaching and maintaining optimal cattle performance. When she has free time, Maddy enjoys getting outside whether it be riding horses, camping, seeing friends or spending time at the lake.
